Harnessing the Power of the Mind Body Connection

mind body connection
You are a powerful creator

In quantum physics there is a phenomenon known as the observer effect. The observer effect states that a particle cannot manifest in reality until we observe it. This is what we mean when we say that your thoughts create your reality. At the subatomic level, energy responds to your mindful attention and becomes matter. Energy is the very fabric of all things in the physical world and is highly responsive to the mind. When you hold focused thoughts about your intention, or that which you desire, accompanied by strong emotions, you broadcast a powerful electromagnetic signal that pulls you towards a potential reality that mirrors what you want. Mind and matter are inextricably entangled.

The body keeps the score

Your body reacts biochemically to the thoughts that you think and it is always listening. Joe Dispenza illustrates this in an experiment involving a finger pulling exercise. In this experiment, participants were separated into two groups. One group physically participated in the finger pulling exercise. The other group was tasked with simply visualizing themselves doing the exercise. The group that physically participated in the exercise increased the muscle tone in their fingers by 30%. What is even more astonishing, is that the group that simply used visualization increased their muscle tone by 23%! This surprising result underscores the importance of visualizing the outcome that you want because your body responds very powerfully to the mind.

Whatever you focus your attention and energy on is what you are calling into your life. This is further illustrated in Masaru Emoto’s famous water study. In Emoto’s experiment he used two glasses of water. On one glass he taped negative words such as hate, guilt and pain. On the other glass he taped positive words like love, joy and peace. Next, he froze each glass of water until they turned to ice. When he studied the composition of the ice crystals in each glass he was amazed to discover that the negative word water formed bizarre, asymmetrical shapes while the positive word water formed perfectly symmetrical shapes, like beautiful snowflakes. The implications of this study are striking.

Words are wands

But that’s not all! As a follow up, Emoto did a similar experiment in which he placed equal amounts of rice and water into three separate jars. Each day for thirty days he approached the jars. He praised the first jar with compliments and uplifting words. He insulted the second jar, calling it names and insulting it. He said nothing to the third jar, turning his back on it and ignoring it completely. At the end of the thirty days the jar he praised was normal and clean. The jar he insulted was full of black mold. And the third jar he ignored was rotten and festering.

Emoto’s conclusion is that gratitude and loving intentions have a profoundly positive effect on even the most benign matter- water and rice. In contrast, bullying and apathy can create mold and rot. Your body is made up of 70% water, so what do you think is happening when you’re constantly criticizing and berating yourself? There is no separation between body and mind, they are one.

energetic set point
What’s your set point?

People have an energetic set point consisting of their thoughts, beliefs, behaviors and the people in their lives. That means that your thoughts, what you believe is possible for you and your daily habits are actually creating your set point. When you think about yourself, hold an image in your mind of exactly how you want to look. See yourself succeeding, see yourself healthy and vibrant, see yourself feeling confident, see yourself showing up as that empowered leader and wayshower that you are.

Task your subconscious mind with the job of making that happen for you and it will do all the work on your behalf. Trust your brain to correct, improve and keep moving you towards that end goal. Just like the rice, your internal world and what you say to yourself is a direct reflection of your physical world. You have the power to decide whether you want to flourish or rot.
