How to Feel Safe + Grounded During Uncertain Times: Part 1
These days it is easy to feel unmoored, disconnected from your body and overwhelmed by the energy of the collective. We are in the midst of a transitionary, liminal period and maybe you’re a little scared. That’s okay, it’s normal to feel that way. You’ve overcome substantial challenges in this lifetime as well as many others. You have all the inner resources you need to weather this storm too. It won’t be long until the clouds blow over and dissipate to make room for illuminating sunshine and euphoric rainbows.
And in the meantime, let’s be grateful for the many blessings that enrich our lives already. There is good that has already blossomed from the crossroads, namely compassion, unity and altruism. Can you feel it? The world and its people are coming together. Mother Earth has been granted respite, an opportunity to heal. You are witnessing the birth of a new paradigm.
tools for grounding
✧ Energetic cleansing– lately I have been smoke cleansing with palo santo or taking a restorative bath with black lava salt. This practice is so vital for sensitive people who absorb outside energy easily. Energy cleansing anchors you back into your body and clears you of emotions emanating from the collective. I encourage you to try this ritual before bedtime. You will sleep more deeply and wake up feeling refreshed and energized. I describe the basics of how to cleanse your aura in this post which happens to be my 2nd most popular pin on Pinterest.
✧ Yoga– I love yoga because it helps me amplify my connection to the physical plane while balancing the etheric body at the same time. It is rewarding to feel your muscles becoming stronger and more flexible each day. Exercise of any kind stimulates the release of endorphins which lifts your mood and increases self esteem. Do whatever makes you excited to move- the possibilities are endless. Why not try tai chi, kickboxing, or barre? There are an abundance of free videos waiting for you on Youtube that you can do from home. Here are some of my favorite yoga options; I basically have Ali Kamenova on repeat lately.
✧ Meditation– friends, I avoided meditation for years. Until 2019 when I committed to doing 10 minutes a day. Because that thing you’re resisting is often the most potent medicine of all. I was astonished to discover that when I meditate consistently I am less emotionally reactive (which is saying a lot for this Aries moon) and it is easier to activate my inner zen at will. Meditation has an abundance of benefits. It is a centering practice that reduces stress and anxiety. A Harvard study even illustrates that it even has the ability to positively alter the brains of depressed patients. A consistent meditation practice allows you to bring this skill with you into stressful situations and it heightens intuition like no other. Meditation deepens your relationship with Source and don’t be surprised when the amount of downloads you receive from the Universe begin to skyrocket.
✧ Binaural Beats– to be honest, my energy and mood has been fluctuating day to day, but putting on binaural beats on in the background while working has helped immensely. Binaural beats + himalayan salt lamp= pure magic. Bonus points if you listen with noise-cancelling headphones because barking dogs. My apartment feels like a cozy safe space cocoon and it is positively radiating good vibes. Want some binaural beat recommendations? I have been listening to this one, this one, and this one. You can find me on cloud 9.
✧ Journaling– Journaling each day allows you to get to the heart of what you’re feeling and going through. It is a healthy way way to process your emotions. It’s also an indispensable record of your unique path towards inner transformation. Journaling acts as a catalyst and container for your groundbreaking ideas and eureka moments. It is also happens to be my favorite method for transcending creative blocks. Express yourself in any way you like- you can doodle, use stickers, write poetry, paint, whatever your heart desires. So get out your prettiest notebook and a plethora of colorful gel pens, and get to it.
