The Growing Pains of a New Paradigm
Ever since the Saturn-Pluto conjunction earlier this year, the world has shifted in a big way. We have found ourselves inside an energetic pressure cooker, undergoing a collective metamorphosis and this is the chrysalis stage. The truth is, we are birthing a new paradigm. The structure of our society will be irrevocably altered. And there are growing pains along the way. Trust that we will heal and find our path.
I love this quote from Brett Kissel, “Focus on the silver linings, every day. We, as human beings, will get through this. In the 1910’s we got through WWI. In the 30’s we got through The Great Depression. In the 40’s we got through WWII. Every decade, we as humanity, get through something gigantic. In 2001 the U.S. got through 9/11. Now, in 2020, it’s covid-19. We will get through this too. With patience, love and trust.”
In the advent of the virus I began grieving for it all: my old lifestyle, the afflicted and their families, the suffering of the world, our personal freedom, the loss of the house my husband and I were planning to purchase. It’s amazing what we take for granted until it falls like grains of sand from between your fingertips. The little things like celebrating holidays and birthdays with family, going to the movie theater, traveling abroad, dining out, human touch. When all of this is over, those moments will be cherished as precious treasure.
Simple Abundance
For now, seek to recognize the slivers of joy to be found, shining through. The satisfaction of aching muscles after an at-home workout, the tranquility to be found in reiki and meditation, the comfort of a luxurious lavender bath, a heartwarming call with a loved one, delicious and hearty home cooked meals, the gratification of learning new skills like sewing or how to brew herbal decoctions. What are you grateful for?
For me, this highly emotional process has involved all the textbook stages of grief- denial, fear, anger, sadness. I finally reached a state of peaceful acceptance, but make no mistake, there was an ocean of tears to get here. For every one step forward I took two steps back. And I can sense my spirit fluctuating between 3D and 5D. As an empath, maybe you’re experiencing this as well. We take on a lot of emotional energy from the collective and transmute it like spiritual alchemists. Each day it helps me to affirm the following: “I am aligned with the vibration of love.” Perhaps this will help you too. Unconditional love will always win, and the world is in great need of it right now. Allow your heart to radiate this potent medicine.
Collective Healing
From a spiritual perspective I feel very strongly that one of the “side effects” of this world event is to give us the space to heal our relationship with ourselves. We can only escape in the illusory refuge of tv, drugs, social media, relationships, work, shopping, etc. for so long. At some point we will have no choice but to stare our demons directly in the eyes and ask “why are you here? what purpose do you serve?” Only then can we understand the root of our suffering and exorcise our demons, thanking them for the role they played in helping us cope with the trials of life, and releasing them like balloons into the sky. I have found journaling to be especially useful for this process; you may also consider automatic writing and journeying if you feel called.
I’ve noticed that the passage of time seems to have been altered. For the first time in my adulthood, the days appear to unfold more slowly. I find myself enjoying how much more present and in the moment I am. It is far easier to tune into the needs of my body, mind and spirit when I am not running around, lost in a frantic pace of busy-ness. Connecting with my intuition is virtually effortless lately. We are becoming more aligned with the vibration of the divine feminine and her energy of softness, sensitivity and receptivity. The lunar nodes currently reside in the Cancer-Capricorn axis. We are being asked to heal our relationship with productivity (Capricorn). The medicine is found in staying home and practicing self care (Cancer). We are just as worthy when we watch netflix as we are when we’re hard at work. Your worthiness is implied. Just by existing, you are enough.
As Above, So Below
“Be yourself absolutely, naturally and with ease, shine your light and allow your presence to invite that which you wish to receive. It is about cultivating an energetic affinity with what you seek, rather than feelings of lack and need.” – Alana Fairchild
Have you observed how there is also a rising reverence for our elders, the wisdom-keepers? Our society is recognizing their pivotal role rather than continuing to worship on the altar of all things shiny, young and new. Homesteading and old world skills are now in vogue. I finally used my new juicer which had been languishing in its box for a year. Baking sourdough bread is trending. People are performing DIY haircuts, with mixed results. Herbalism is growing in popularity. It would seem that these vital ancestral skills are being passed down after all. This coincides directly with Uranus’ transit through the sign of Taurus. As above, so below.
Recently I was guided to read The Red Book by Carl Jung in order to better grasp his process of shedding light on the unconscious mind. Jung’s words made a strong and life-altering impression on me. I want to leave you with a quote that captures the essence of what I feel we are meant to learn at this time.
“He will run after all the things, and will seize hold of them, but he will not find his soul, since he would find her only in himself.”
Dear One, everything you need is already within you. Look no further. You hold the key to your inner power.
